Macmillan Primary Care: A Series of Education Events for Cancer Care Co-ordinators


This course is open to all Cancer Care Co-ordinators, Social Prescribers, Care Navigators based in Primary Care, within Kent & Medway, who support patients living with a cancer diagnosis.




Aim of the events: • To gain an awareness of cancer prevention, risk factors, screening & its uptake, 2ww referrals, safety netting, diagnosis & treatment • To empower cancer care co-ordinators, who are involved in 3-month cancer care reviews and ongoing support to the patient through their cancer journey, to have the knowledge and skills to complete a review & signpost to appropriate services and care providers • Gain knowledge of the immediate and long-term effects of cancer • To obtain the knowledge and tools to be able to signpost patients according to physical, emotional and practical support • Personalised Care Planning • Health inequalities – how we can support our local communities Dates available: Session One - 18/01/23 – Kenwood Trust, Yalding, ME18 6AH (09:30-16:30) Session Two - 23/02/23 – Howfield Manor, Canterbury, CT4 7HQ (09:30 -16:30) Session Three - 24.02.23 – Singleton Environment Centre, Ashford, TN23 5LW (10:00 -16:00) 08.03.23 – Kenward Trust, Yalding, ME18 6AH (10:00 -16:00) 21.03.23 – Digital Innovation Centre, Hawkinge, CT18 7SS (10:00 -16:00) To request a place on the above dates or for further information, please contact: kmicb.macmillanprimarycare@nhs.net
