Cardiff University Research: Non-medical Prescribing

Dear colleague,

Led by Cardiff University, we have developed an electronic learning intervention (a 5 minute

animation) to support appropriate antibiotic prescribing by nurse and pharmacist prescribers for patients with respiratory tract infections (RTIs).

We are undertaking a small research study to test this intervention to see how acceptable it is to

prescribers and if it changes prescribing behaviour. As you are a qualified nurse or pharmacist

prescriber involved in the treatment management of patients with RTIs, we are inviting you to take part in this study.

Please find attached below an participant information sheet with some information about the research. If you would like further information, please contact me at the email address at the end of this sheet.

If you are keen to take part, please click on the link below. This will take you to the animation and

the pre and post intervention on-line questionnaires. The questionnaires will take you no more than 5 minutes to complete i.e. 10 minutes in total to view the animation and complete the

questionnaires. Prior to completing the pre-intervention questionnaire, you will be asked to tick a

box indicating your consent to participate.

This study has been subject to ethical review by the Research Ethics Committee, School of

Healthcare Sciences, Cardiff University, and has been allowed to proceed.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Molly Courtenay
