Health Care Support Workers and Maternity Support Workers Awards

Update from NHS England:

At the CNO Summit last week, Ruth was delighted to announce the launch of bespoke awards for healthcare support workers and maternity support workers.

As we will all know, healthcare support workers and maternity support workers are at the heart of clinical settings and local communities up and down the country and make a real difference to the lives of patients and their nursing and midwifery colleagues every day.

These awards will provide an opportunity at a national level to recognise the HCSWs and MSWs that embody our NHS values every day, in all that they do. This extends the existing CNO and CMidO Award schemes that recognise nurses and midwives and builds on the success of these awards, while demonstrating the importance of support staff to our wider workforce.

You can find a link to the nomination form and the process here. We ask that you share this with all ICBs and trusts in your area so that the vital work that our HCSWs and MSWs do across the system can be nationally recognised.

We hope these awards will inspire colleagues to nominate our fantastic support workforce for national recognition, and trusts to think about how they can recognise your colleagues at a local level.
